Artistic Residencies

Aldones Nino's trajectory in the field of artistic residencies is grounded in the strategic articulation between authorial production and institutional structures. In his role as a facilitator, he fosters the expansion of collaborative networks, establishing the necessary support for the accompaniment and maturation of creative processes. This practice, consolidated at institutions such as Instituto Inclusartiz and Collegium, reflects a commitment to developing programs that integrate contemporary art with the memory of territories, promoting institutional cooperation and insertion into the international circuit.

Aldones Nino's work conceives the artistic residency as a device of situated production, involving both the structuring of programs and direct collaborations with artists and institutions. In 2026, he is developing the Tropismo residency program in South Korea, as part of the first Brazilian Pavilion at the 16th Gwangju Biennale. Simultaneously, Nino collaborated on the residency of Xadalu Tupã Jekupé at Unisinos, a project realized in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the Jesuit Missions.

Collegium

Aldones Nino is the creator and responsible for the development of the artistic residency program at Collegium, in Arévalo, where he established a structure oriented toward research and contemporary production. Since its implementation, the initiative has fostered exchange between artists and global institutions, consolidating international partnerships through networks of cooperation.

The program is grounded in immersion in the rural setting of Arévalo, prioritizing attentiveness to its material, social, and historical particularities. This approach connects residents with traditional knowledge and local artisanal techniques that face the risk of extinction. Through this dynamic, the project has articulated collaborations with professionals from countries such as Brazil, the United States, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and El Salvador, strengthening the institution's presence in the global art circuit.

Instituto Inclusartiz

Between 2020 and 2023, Aldones Nino served as research and education advisor at Instituto Inclusartiz, in Rio de Janeiro, contributing to the development of programs aimed at the internationalization of Brazilian artists. His work involved accompanying artists at different stages of their careers, collaborating in the construction of strategies for circulation, research, and professional development. He also participated in the formulation of national open calls for artistic residencies, contributing to the creation of institutional conditions capable of broadening artists' access to networks of exchange and research.

At Instituto Inclusartiz, his practice consolidated a fundamental dimension of his trajectory: the mediation between artists, institutions, and international platforms, understanding artistic residencies as instruments of formation, visibility, and network-building. Leading the institute's international collaborations, he articulated opportunities for artists to participate in contexts such as the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, the Bubblegum Gallery in Johannesburg, and Homesession in Barcelona.
