About the series

Convergências brings together collages built from fragments of images taken from books, art history manuals, encyclopedias, and visual archives. The series departs from the idea that every image carries a history, but also a position within systems of classification, value, and power. By displacing these images from their original contexts, the work interrupts the way they were organized by historiography and proposes new relationships.
